SO you need to have your Polars and wind instruments sorted for it to really do its job. But like all routing programs shit in shit out. I like expedition it is user friendly and inutuitive. I used it a long time before that just peripherally as a watch captain. I have used Expedition for the past 6 years or so as a Navigator. We had a 30 degree difference between grib TWD and actual TWD on the Cervantes race 10 days ago and it would've been amazing if we could've adjusted the TWD for the routing. The one thing it doesn't do (that I understand Expedition does) is allow you to re-run the routing based on conditions experienced at the time. Responsive help from the developer, Edouard (seems to be a common theme).Grib vs actuals dashboard for comparing forecasts on the course.Pre-loaded TSSs for Channel and French atlantic coast.Wifi integration with B&G plotters works well.Ability to manually tweak sail crossover.Easily edited polars and some nice tweaks for effectiveness.Easy access to Squid / Great Circle gribs, SHOM tides, raster charts.UI has a short but steep learning curve - intuitive after a few uses.I've had a play but we're still working out how to using routing software effectively so are not quite at the point of needing the gold standard yet. We're using Simsail (free) but I've been sorely tempted to try a demo license of Expedition.
